    Fatemeh Alhosseini, a highly motivated and accomplished professional, obtained her Ph.D. in Applied Psychology and Education from the University of Toronto. With a deep passion for knowledge sharing and a fresh perspective on non-profits, she actively drives positive change through meaningful employment initiatives. Her unwavering commitment to empowering others has earned her recognition as a dedicated advocate for change.

    At the intersection of financial autonomy, culturally relevant programs, and social impact, Fatemeh’s expertise focuses on innovative approaches that uplift marginalized communities. By challenging conventional practices, she seeks out new opportunities for growth and influence within the non-profit sector. As an Executive Director, Fatemeh is dedicated to leveraging the unique skills and perspectives that newcomers bring, advocating for inclusive hiring practices, fostering entrepreneurship, and contributing to Canada’s economic growth and societal enrichment.

    Beyond her professional pursuits, Fatemeh cherishes quality time with her big Persian family, and passionately engages in rock-climbing, swimming, dancing, and cooking.

    Anzette is driven by a passion for creating positive social outcomes. With over 35 countries visited and work experience spanning three continents, Anzette brings a global perspective to her role.

    She has a proven track record of successful campaign development and cultivating meaningful donor relationships. Her strategic approach to fundraising includes expert donor management, meticulous event coordination, and tailored marketing strategies for the non-profit landscape.

    Anzette's personal connection as an immigrant fuels her dedication to making a measurable difference in the lives of marginalized communities. She hopes to make meaningful social impact, and drive the foundation forward with passion, empathy, and a pursuit of positive change.

  • Country of Origin: Canada

    Josh has worked with Impakt Foundation since 2021, assisting with administrative organization, research, program development, and communications. In his role as communications coordinator, Josh oversees social media campaigns, web design, graphic design, and client outreach. Josh is dedicated to the foundation’s values of authenticity, compassion, and innovation, and the ways in which those values can contribute to the wellbeing and prosperity of newcomers in Canada.

    Josh is currently enrolled at the University of Toronto, with an interest in the intersection of business and anthropology. In his free time, Josh enjoys designing, drumming, and creating music and art.

  • Alexandra Reucassel

    Description goes hereAlexandra Reucassel is a dedicated advocate for social change, with a strong focus on migration and integration issues. She holds a master’s degree in Migration and Global Development, with her research focusing on the perspectives of female refugee camp volunteers and their evolving understanding of womanhood through their experience.

    Currently, Alexandra is actively involved in contributing to the Impakt Foundation, supporting research projects and fundraising activities aimed at connecting newcomers to resources and empowering them to thrive in Canada. She also volunteers her time at New Circles, a clothing bank and social service center in Toronto dedicated to supporting newcomers and other vulnerable populations, fostering community integration.

    Driven by her belief in the power of research, Alexandra is committed to translating the lived experiences of vulnerable populations into meaningful insights that increase awareness and knowledge. She strives to amplify marginalized voice and catalyze positive change through evidence-based approaches, ensuring that the challenges faced by migrating communities are understood and addressed with empathy and effectiveness.

    Beyond her professional pursuits, Alexandra cherishes spending quality time with friends and family, delving into a good book and reconnecting with nature. In addition, she nurtures her love for fashion by reading vogue and curating Pinterest boards for her friends and family.

  • Bani Vohra

    Bani is originally from India, after coming to Canada as an international student she experienced firsthand, the challenges of adapting to a new environment. This journey sparked her passion for social change and supporting marginalized communities.

    As an avid advocate for diversity and inclusion, she is deeply interested in empowering newcomers and refugees to thrive in their new homes.

    With the Impakt Foundation, she hopes to leverage my experiences and skills to contribute meaningfully to the employment program. By fostering partnerships and providing support she aims to facilitate a more equitable and inclusive society. Her goal is to help individuals unlock their potential, overcome barriers, and achieve their career aspirations, ultimately fostering a stronger, more cohesive community.

Cultural Ambassadors

  • Country of Origin: Uganda

    Monica has over 10 years of programmes designing, coordinating, and research experience under her belt. She has worked with various Institutions both in Canada and Uganda. She is also passionate about advocating for gender equality and she has secured various funding to support this cause.

    She has an Msc in Public Health from Uganda with a specialization in Population and Reproductive Health. Her lived experiences as a newcomer in Canada continuously drives her to support newcomers to overcome various barriers while settling in Canada.

  • Country of Origin: Ethiopia

    Rahel Gettu is a native Ethiopian and is a newcomer in Canada.  She worked for United Nations at various capacities in Ethiopia as well as in Geneva, Switzerland.  She holds a Master of Business Leadership from University of South Africa, and her MPH from Addis Continental Institute of Public Health. 

    She is highly skilled in program design and implementation, project management, research and global health. She is passionate about communities and power of partnership to empower communities. Rahel arrived in Canada last year with her three-year-old son.

    Rahel values quality time with her 3-year-old son, meeting new people and traveling.
