Descendants of Jewish tailors find a common thread

Anne Dublin, who was raised in Toronto, and Eva Madras, who grew up in Montreal, are both descendants of Holocaust survivors and the daughters of tailors.

But the shared history of the two total strangers doesn’t stop there as both their families came to Canada from postwar Europe under Ottawa’s Tailor Project to fill a tailor shortage at a time when the country’s doors were closed to Jewish immigration.
