Refugees arrive in Canada with courage, skills, and years of experience. Too often, the system only sees the barriers: unfamiliar credentials, limited networks, language, housing, status.
At Impakt, we see the whole person, and we walk with them from survival to stability.
Our Integrated Newcomer Services model brings employment support directly to refugees, often right inside shelter settings. No cold referrals. No fragmented hand-offs. Just trusted relationships and practical, step-by-step support.

Every member of our programming and design team is a refugee. The people who build our services are the people who’ve lived them and that’s what makes our model work. When support comes from someone who understands what it means to start again, everything changes.
Many refugees are ready to work. What they’re missing is access.
We partner with employers, training institutions, and community organizations to build real pathways into the labour market — and to help partners see what we see: resilience, talent, and commitment.
For refugees living in shelters, a job is often the first step out.
But a paycheque alone isn’t enough. People need help with budgeting, housing readiness, shared-apartment planning, landlord conversations, transportation, and the confidence to take the next step.
That’s why our Employment Pathways are connected to everything else we do. Housing, mental health, community, belonging. Income matters most when it sits alongside support.
